What is 1 Finance score?

The 1 Finance Score is a weighted average based on price, product features, and claims experience. Each parameter has sub-parameters with predetermined weights. All parameters are scored from 0 to 100, and plans are graded accordingly. This eliminates bad apples and present viable options, enabling informed decisions and existing policy evaluation.

Key factors that contribute to the 1 Finance Score

We consider the value and benefits you can derive from the policy — and how these can align with your requirements. The policy with the most features is scored 100, based on an average of sub-parameters like room rent, no claim bonus, rewards for healthy behaviour, etc.

We take into account your predisposition to be price-sensitive and the need for the policy premium to be affordable and offer value for money. The most expensive product is scored 0 and the lowest priced is scored 100. A relative pricing method is considered.

Here, we take into account how seamless the process of dealing with the insurer is — in case of cashless policies or reimbursement of claims — in terms of helping you save out-of-pocket expenses. To evaluate this parameter, we factor in details like the claim settlement ratio, incurred claim ratio, age analysis of claims, network hospitals in your vicinity, etc.
